Bridge Courses
NURS 800 - Principles of Advanced Nurse Practice (4)
This bridge course examines the relationships among nursing theory, research, scientific advances, and evidence-based practice that inform advanced nursing practice. It is offered for students who have not completed a master's in nursing program prior to matriculation into the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Students examine current social, professional, and legislative trends including the study and critique of theories and frameworks from nursing and related disciplines.
NURS 805 - Transition to Doctor of Nursing Practice (4)
This bridge course focuses on the role of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and is offered for students who have not completed a master's in nursing program prior to matriculation into the DNP. The focus will be on developing requisite skills needed for role assumption and leadership through engagement in activities designed to develop competencies within an area of interest. [Practicum hours: 125]
